Thailand is currently drafting its first National Adaptation Plan (NAP). As part of this process, NIES is working with the Thai Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning (ONEP) in 2018 to support the development of a web-based platform for disseminating the NAP and adaptation measures. NIES has extensive experience with platform development and welcomed policymakers and experts from ONEP to introduce the design, operations, and updating process for an Adaptation Platform (A-PLAT) and the Asia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Information Platform (AP-PLAT). Thai representatives were eager to learn not only about the structure of the websites but also about the human resources and funding required for their maintenance. Following up on this initial exchange, NIES will visit Thailand to provide more information and technical assistance to contribute to the implementation of adaptation measures in Thailand.

Visitors from ONEP:
Mrs. Katunchalee Thammakul, Ms. Chompunut Songkhao, Dr. Atsamon Limsakul
