Footnotes
(Note 1) “Heat-transfer-slowing heat-absorbing material” (a material that slows down the transfer of heat by absorbing it). By insulating the heat, it increases the amount of accumulated heat and takes longer for heat to be transferred, which increases the time until it cools down.
(Note 2) It has a function to block most of the radiant heat generated by infrared radiation from the sun, which is the main cause of heat inside buildings. By blocking most of the radiant heat, it is possible to greatly reduce the rise in temperature inside the building. In winter, it contributes to energy conservation by effectively blocking cold air to the outside and bouncing heat towards the inside of the building.

Company Overview
SOUGO KIKAKU, INC. is engaged in real estate sales and purchase of land, one/two-story custom-built houses, and subdivision lots for sale in Nasushiobara, Otawara, and Nasu. We are committed to providing better and more comfortable homes, improving quality, reducing costs, and upgrading comfort, with an insatiable spirit of exploration and ambition, never to be complacent, to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction.
Climate Change Impacts
As temperatures rise due to global warming, attics become extremely hot, increasing the risk of heat stroke for craftsmen (carpenters, electricians, etc.). The rise in temperatures inside buildings may also increase the risk of heat stroke among the senior residents and children, who are vulnerable to high temperatures. How people and buildings can adapt to global warming has been an issue to be addressed.
Adaptation Initiatives
We have been committed to support adaptation to global warming for people and buildings. For example, we are engaged in the following initiatives to promote awareness of the necessity and importance of adaptation to global warming for people and buildings, as well as specific measures to be taken.
- Original production and free distribution of booklets (Figure 1)
- Conducting seminars and lectures
- Participating in local events (Figure 2)
- Promoting heat shielding to industry peers (TEAM REIBO ZERO PROJECT)
Conventional heat insulators (Note 1), which have been used as energy-saving measures in buildings, becomes a disadvantage under high temperatures because it takes longer for the heat to be transferred through the insulator, which also means it takes longer for the indoor temperature to cool down. As a countermeasure, we are promoting the introduction of high-performance heat shielding material (Note 2). The introduction of this heat shield material makes it possible to control the rise in temperature inside buildings by blocking solar infrared radiation, which become the main cause of heat within the buildings.
Effects / Expected Benefits
In addition to promoting public awareness of the necessity and importance of adaptation for humans and buildings, we are promoting the introduction of high-performance heat shielding materials to control high temperatures inside buildings during the summer, when new buildings/houses are being constructed or remodeled (Figure 3). These initiatives are expected to contribute to reducing the risk of heat stroke.
