"Importance of Regional Cooperation in Climate Change Adaptation-Asian Case Study"
On July 19th (Thursday), ISAP2018 2 day, a session, "Importance of Regional Cooperation in Climate Change Adaptation-An Asian Case Study" was held.
Presentations and panel discussions were held on the importance of strengthening adaptation planning and regional cooperation that can respond to climate change impacts that are common across national borders, as well as the role of research and international organizations in this regard. In the meeting, the leaders demonstrated the importance of integrating discussions, such as the need for governments and local governments to take the lead in building platforms in order to enable cross-border regional cooperation, and for researchers to meet face-to-face and approach from diverse perspectives, as researchers are working together in IPCC. He also stated that Japan will play an important role in the Asia-Pacific region through human resource education, technology transfer, information sharing, etc.
