Adaptation Futures2018 Report 6

Date of the meeting June 18-21, 2018
Venue South Africa/Cape Town

Adaptation Futures2018 closing ceremony

The next meeting will be held in 2020.

At Adaptation Futures closing ceremony held for four days, the number of participants was reported to be 1,300.
Despite the fact that water shortages threatened the opening of the meeting, this number of people gathered, which also gave rise to international concerns about adaptation.

At the closing ceremony, it was reported that recommendations should be made in IPCC Sixth Report based on the announcement of the meeting, and that ongoing studies and initiatives should be continued in the future.

Adaptation Futures

Adaptation Futures begins in Australia and is held biannually in the United States, Mexico, the Netherlands, and South Africa. The next meeting will be held in 2020. The host country is not yet determined, but I hope that it will become a meeting that can confirm the progress of adaptation based on the knowledge gained at this meeting.
