"Eco-Lab Toyama Environmental Music Learning Room" Visit Report

On October 1, 2020, the Environment Rakuten Eco Lab and Yamama opened in the Toyama Prefecture Environmental Science Center, which operates the Toyama Prefecture Climate Change Adaptation Center.

It is a facility where you can see, touch, and enjoy learning about everything from the immediate environment to the global environment. From the history of environmental problems such as pollution in Toyama Prefecture, the exhibition of the Environmental Science Center's business and research, scientific experiment, recycling work, measurement of noise and radiation using equipment, etc. are widely introduced.

In the corner of climate change impacts and adaptation measures, we display the mechanism of global warming, the impacts that appear worldwide and in Japan, the climate of Toyama in the future, measures against heat stroke, and other convenient goods to overcome the heat.

The Digital Four-Dimensional Globe (Dagic Earth) displays various forms of the Earth on a stereoscopic screen about 10 million times larger than the Earth. We can see three-dimensionally the changes in temperature from the past to the present, the trends in typhoons coming to Japan, and the forest distribution map as seen from satellites.

Many of the exhibits featured ideas and ingenious ideas from the staff. The exhibits offer a full range of content that can be enjoyed by everyone from children to adults, including environmental quizzes, puzzles, and books on the environment. If you have a chance, please visit us.
