Company Overview
Established in 1990, CHICHIBU CHEMICAL Co., Ltd. has engaged in the development and sale of Plastic Rainwater Storage Structure (PRSS). We mainly develop and sell PRSS and their maintenance products to prevent inundation damage and harvest rainwater.
Adaptation Initiatives
It is observed quite many areas all over the world of frequent inundation, where sewage system is not sufficiently provided or drainage system is not functioning well, inundation occurs even at the time of ordinary rainfall. It is reported that recent challenging issues are land subsidence occurring due to excessive groundwater utilization and water shortages owing to increasing population in urban areas.
We have technologies to construct PRSS under the ground which can contribute to flood control by outflow regulation, land subsidence control by groundwater replenishment and rainwater utilization (Fig.1,Fig.2). Our PRSS boast the following comparative superiority: 1. With actual void ratio as high as over 95%, excavation volume and amount of waste soil are reduced to suppress total costs. 2. Made of polypropylene, light in weight and easy to handle only by human power. 3. With proper soil covering secured, they withstand vertical loads up to T-25 (live load) and are safely designed to tolerate the seismic movement level 2 (Assumed The Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake).
As an adaptation measure for climate change, we will contribute to the construction of sound water cycle all over the world by disseminating PRSS.
