Company Overview

株式会社レスキューナウロゴ

Rescuenow Inc. is engaged in content business that provides risk management information distribution services for disasters, traffic, and weather. We also plan, produce and sell extensive products and disaster prevention stock supplies to support the preparation and training for the initial response in emergency situations making use of our proprietary collected information for disaster response.

Climate Change Impacts

Japan is a country of many natural disasters including floods, earthquakes and heavy snowfall. How to protect people from disasters is one of the most important issues from the perspectives of SDGs and ESG. In particular, disasters caused by climate change, such as torrential rains, have recently become a major issue, and accurately grasping the constantly changing information is important to promote risk management measures and to minimize damage.

Adaptation Initiatives

The “contents share service” is a data distribution service that provides risk management information for natural disasters, railroads and lifelines, that we collect around the clock through the whole year, in the form of xml to a server designated by our customers in real time (Fig. 1).

Our risk management information center (Note 1) collects and distributes information on a wide range of possible risks that may affect the operations of our clients, such as sudden disasters, factory fires, and power outages. The Center's dedicated staff of professionals check the websites of the media, government agencies, and lifeline companies for approximately 7,500 times, and conducts about 100 telephone interviews, mainly with transportation companies, to gather information on risks and emergencies. When necessary, we also conduct telephone interviews to confirm the facts of the outbreak, and accurate information is promptly distributed as risk management information.

The collected information is processed into a consistent granularity and text in xml format (Fig. 2) in accordance with our distribution standards for the expression, distribution method, and data format of the respective information publisher.

After the distribution of the first report, contents will continue to be delivered each time there is a change in the situation, and any information that includes the decision of termination or cancellation will continue to be delivered until the end of the disaster or situation.

The data is managed in a database labeled with Distance, Level, and Category to be distributed, making it possible to focus on information in the necessary areas and provide it to users regardless of which media, terminal, location, or system used in their daily work.

The categories of information are expanding as needed to include traffic information, emergency information, and information related to factory operations, etc., in response to customer requests (Fig. 3).

Effects / Expected Benefits

The service provides information in a unified data format even for different types of information, such as "weather and nature information" and "evacuation information for all municipalities in Japan," and always adds an element (Note 2) of the disaster area. For example, the system is linked to a customer management system or business system owned by the customer to quickly and accurately identify customers residing in areas where disasters are occurring or evacuation information has been issued. There are also examples of the system for rapid response to limit damage to the company's facilities in the event of a disaster, and for providing services to customers in the disaster area.
