Adaptation Initiatives

TODA CORPORATION aims to put ZEB (Net Zero Energy Building), which reduces the energy consumption as close to zero as possible, into practical use by 2020.
We also promote activities to systematically reduce CO2 emissions during construction of buildings, roads, and tunnels. Based on these initiatives, we have been certified as an Eco-First Company and promised the Minister of the Environment to reduce 80% of the CO2 emissions by 2050 (compared to the level in 1990).
However, extreme weather conditions such as high temperatures in the summer and heavy rainfall in a short period of time are both a "cost" and a "risk" because it affects the number of operating days at work sites.
Thus, we take measures to visualize the cost for storm countermeasures and other preparations at work sites, and to raise the awareness by sharing information to make it easier to envision the impact of frequent occurrences of the extreme weather. We also make efforts to raise awareness towards climate change at each work site. Through these initiatives, we are striving to reduce the risks of climate change impacts.
