Adaptation Initiatives
The Basic Environmental Management Policy of the Daiichi Sankyo Group states that it will deal with the impacts of climate change and water risks on its business activities, so it identifies climate change and water risks and promotes countermeasures.
As part of these efforts, the Group has conducted a survey of its domestic branches to identify how the onsite staff recognize climate change risks. The idea is that considering and evaluating these risks from the onsite perspective by understanding their perception of the present state and actual conditions will be effective in addition to knowledge of the headquarter.
Using questions provided by the CDP* as a reference, the survey asked about climate change and water risks. It found that many are concerned with climate change’s effects on production due to increased costs, equipment failures resulting from changes in the highest and lowest air temperatures, and production and raw material procurement due to changes in tropical storms.

An international NPO that measures, discloses, manages, and shares the environmental information of cities and private companies to evaluate opportunities and risks of climate change, greenhouse gas emissions, and water issues to provide knowledge for policy-making and decision-making in business and investment.
