Report on the results of the participants' questionnaire survey at the Second Regional Meeting to Exchange Opinions on Promoting Climate Change Adaptation

On Friday, November 22, 2019, we held the Second Meeting to Exchange Opinions on Promoting Climate Change Adaptation in the Region. At this meeting, we introduced the background of the establishment of the Local Climate Change Adaptation Center, introduced the activities of the Local Climate Change Adaptation Center, introduced the support menus provided by National Institute for Environmental Studies, and held a group discussion on the establishment of the Center and the activities of the Center for the program). We have conducted a questionnaire survey (bearer name) to participants, and we will introduce some of the answers to the questionnaire.

Other comments included "I thought the issues were the same for all prefectures" and "Although the direction to be headed was useful as a reference, it would be better to have more specific information such as what information to gather and how to manage."

Q.About Support Menus
Q. Regarding consultation and individual support
Some municipalities responded that they did not wish to do so, but they did not wish to do so at the present time because the system on the part of the municipality was not in place, which showed that almost all local governments wanted to do so.
The types of support requested and requests to National Institute for Environmental Studies included the following.
We received a wide range of requests, including "a list of projects that can be referred to as adaptation measures for each ministry and agency," "participation as a meeting and committee member," "review of adaptation plans," "training on how to view data such as observation results and future projections as a basic part," and "training by level such as data collection in local areas as an application part."
Thank you very much for your cooperation in the questionnaire. We will continue to provide regular opportunities for local governments to gather and exchange opinions, and will consider holding regional meetings and training by theme and level. In addition, I would like to refer to the requests we received to enhance our support menus and training.
