Adaptation activity
As part of its measures against heat illness, the Saitama Prefectural Government is calling on local public facilities and businesses, such as convenience stores, to establish temporary resting places, and to cooperate in raising awareness of heat illness issues. Facilities which are part of the scheme can be identified by “Cool Oasis” stickers (Fig. 1) and posters (Fig. 2).
